I bought this car for my wife. I disagree with some of the comments he made. I own a 2019 Honda CRV and this car is quieter. The infotainment screen is very nice and responsive. The standard sound system is possibly better than average. The car has quick pick-up in everyday traffic and it rides nicely.

Owner of a 2019 Ascent, traded in a 2012 Range Rover for it. The Ascent is the single best vehicle I have ever owned. Especially in snow. Just hoping the next gen of this vehicle will be a hybrid. MPG isn’t great, 3rd row needs to be about 3 inches longer for adults to sit back there.

It should be a RWD car not FWD for the cost.

I would be interesting to see you review a BMW with the B58 3.0 turbo inline 6. The engine they put in the Toyota Supra. Thinking about picking up a used 540i with the B58 in a few years (they depriciate super fast)

I OWN SOME OLDER SUBARUS AND A NEW WRX MANUAL AND IM GLAD SUBARU CONTINUES TO MAKE MANUALS AND WISH THEY WOULD OFFER A MANUAL VERSION OF THEIR FA24F IN ALL THEIR CARS ( MINUS ASCENT). I DONT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THE LARGE CENTER DISPLAY AS FAR AS BEING LAGGY OR UNRESPONSIVE EVER BUT I DO WISH ALL AUTO MANUFACTURERS WOULD MAKE A/C, RADIO CONTROLS ETC ALL PHYSICAL BUTTONS SO YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE UR EYES OFF THE ROAD EVER

This review just nails it, in regards to the engine here in Mexico those wet belt engines are a total nightmare and a dealbreaker, over here Peugeot, Renault, Chrysler and now Chevrolet are using wet belts and those are know to have catastrophic failures, even though they claim the belts are specially designed they are not, they start deteriorating and releasing rubber material along with aramid fibers, this mixture ends up clogging the oil pick-up causing oil starvation and catastrophic engine failure, some other times the teeth on the belt separates not only progresively clogging the pick-up but also causing the timing belt to skip timing and the cherry on top is when maintained YOU HAVE TO USE OEM BELTS otherwise it's well know that if the mechanic slaps any belt, even from reputable brands they don't seem to have been properly treated to be wet belts and degrades over a few thousands of miles causing everything I mentioned above, in fact Stellantis is facing a class action lawsuit over here due to their "Puretech" wet belt engine.

Now compare its sister car, the Buick Envista with the upgraded back end in the top trim for ride quality, also maybe a GX Encore for kicks.

Enjoyed your review and quick mechanics evaluation of the Trax. I'm a 74 year old and had my first accident in a Corvair when the right rear wheel and axel came off the vehicle during a left turn. I drove and worked on my grandfather's '65 chevelle and am also familiar with the Vega (and its inherent problems). As an old-timer I can't help but be Leary of the Trax only having three cylinders...especially on a vehicle that may be used off road where it can get wet or muddy. I've never been one to put much faith in turbos because from my experience they don't last, and I keep my vehicles usually a minimum of 20 years on average. I have driven GLC300 Coupe vs RDX ASpec and I love RDX more than the GLC. Both are turbocharged but RDX seems to have better throttle response from the turbo. People either love it or hate it with the Acura trackpad, I just adapt to it in a sense. It just lack the full functions to support the apps like Waze and Spotify, where in those apps the trackpad become like a mouse pad instead (and not so much like the default grid box control).

For those raving about Toyota..... I have been a Toyota loyalist for decades. Not anymore, CVT's are not real transmissions. LOL. Honestly CVT is crap. I've gone with the Chevy Trax and I am quite pleased. I'm turned off by all things CVT

Is this V6 effected by the Honda / Acura V6 lock up recall? My old 90 Legend had 2 hood latches. I had a 2019 RDX A Spec I can tell you calling it a Honda is 100 % correct because Acura from the Corp down will treat you like you purchased a Honda. The one to one track pad is an accident wanting to happen in NYC traffic. I am so glad I upgraded to a Lexus RX 350 totally a better experience from the Corp down to the dealership. They treat you like you purchased a Luxury car. Now AMD in the 90's when Acura first came out they classified and treated you like you had purchased a Luxury car now it's just and over priced Honda. This is sad but true from a Acura owner from the 90's till a few years ago.
